May 5, Saturday.  Ansel Toney Memorial Kite Festival. Location: Academy of Model Aeronautics in Muncie, In. Time: 10:00 a.m. until 04:00 p.m. This will be a one day fun fly, which is open to the public, with a kite building workshop for children of all ages. Details not finalized.  June 30 - July 1, Saturday - Sunday.  Michigan City Kite Event.  This is a NEW event.  Location and time:  TBA.

 Aug. 11, Saturday.   Fly to the Sky Fun Fly.  Kite building for children, car show and kite fly.  No admission charge.  Location: 18906 East U.S. Highway 24. east of Fort Wayne, In., on Highway 24 East. This event is at the B.F. Goodrich plant on 24 East. Directions: Take 469 to the east side of Fort Wayne and exit on U.S.24 East.  Stay on 24 until you see the B.F. Goodrich plant on the South side of the road.  The kite event will be toward the east end of the plant.  Tell traffic patrol you are with the kite flyers and need to park with them. Time: 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Come out and enjoy a day of kite flying and looking at the classic cars. Aug. 25, Saturday.  Kokomo Fun Fly & Cookout  Sat. 12:00pm - 4:00pm Cookout at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Glen Sheets near Kokomo. Come and bring a covered dish.  The HKS will provide the rest of the food.  We will fly kites at Center Road Church of Christ in Kokomo.  Address: 899 West 300 South.  From the intersection of Highway 26 and 31, go North on 31 to Center Road and turn West.  Center Road is the first cross road North of the intersection of 26 & 31.  Proceed West to the church at the corner of 100 West and 300 South.  Or, from Highway 31 South of Kokomo, go to State Road 26 and turn West on 26. Go one mile to first cross road, 100 West, turn North on 100 West. Go one mile to Church of Christ on the right side of the road.  This is always a relaxing and fun day of flying with our friends. Sept. 8   Merritt Beck Memorial Kite Fly. Time: Saturday 10:00 a.m. until 04:00 p.m. Location: AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics) in Muncie, In.  We will be flying at the far southwest corner of the property, not where we fly for the Ansel Toney.  Come and fly kites with your friends and remember Merritt on this special day.  Contact Dick Claycomb at 765-348-3711 or email at daclaycomb@hotmail.com or Clark Shute at: smilehiindy@netzero.net. or 317-272-0187.
